A Darwin plus-size vlogger who has amassed millions of views sharing outfits which get her through the sweaty season, has shared her top five favourite fits.
Body positive TikTok star Stephanie Mahy said she loved nothing more than sharing her city with the world to her 135,000 TikTok folders and 29,500 Instagram followers, and part of that was sharing the highs and lows of dressing for the two seasons.
“Sharing my life on TikTok was a huge period of growth and self love, and sharing outfits which suit our lifestyle has been such a great thing to come from the platform,” she said.
“It’s not always easy but I love sharing fashion content and how a nice outfit can make you feel and look good, even on the hottest and most humid of days.
“It’s started lots of conversations about living in the tropics, and hopefully planted a seed about how great it is to live here.”
Stephanie has shared her five favourite items which has got her through this wet season.
“They are all so versatile and can be worn by anyone, and can also be dressed up and down for the occasion,” she said.

The ultimate wet season staple. These shorts are long enough so you don’t get chaffing but can be rolled up for a different look. These are a nice stretch denim to fit all body shapes and sizes.

Orange Sherbet’s matching sets are a tropical climate’s uniform.
These matching sets are perfect for brunch or hot market days. Pair it with a market bag and a mango smoothie and you can’t go wrong. They also go up to a size 24 and the prints are a perfect match for the hot weather and laid back lifestyle we live.

Kokokini stocks up to a size 22.
Size inclusive, Kokokini goes up to a 22 and comes in different patterns and coverage for all body shapes, needs and wants. They aren’t just for swimming – think about wearing a bikini top under an oversize linen shirt for a beach-to-bar look or a full piece with denim shorts instead of a body suit.

Designed by a Territorian, this linen dress is as perfect for the bar as it is the beach.
This lightweight linen dress is perfect for those sticky days during the wet season, and can be dressed up or down according to the event. Wear it with sandals and a cross body bag for a casual lunch or dress it up with some strappy heels and statement earrings for a more formal look. Bonus points because this brand is owned by Liandra Gaykamangu, a Yolngu woman from East Arnhem Land.

Target’s linen skirts can be worn for any ocasion.
Nothing beats a linen skirt from Target, particularly because these are a European linen which breathes and keeps you cool. The hidden elastic waistband gives the item plenty of extra stretch and lots of confidence to wear something more fitting around your tummy. Because we all know life is too short and we can’t let our insecurities control us.
