To be upfront from the get go, I am a huge Alias Mae stan.
With several pairs in my wardrobe, I think their style is a perfect mix between a classic, timeless shoe with a modern style. They go with everything, and they’re more often than not the first brand I go to when looking for shoes for any occasion.
Several of my pairs have lasted years, which is indicative of the quality given the pressure shoes are under in North Australia to survive more than one wet season.
If anyone has a tip for getting glue to survive more than two wet seasons, I’m all ears.
The Australian brand ships to the UK and NZ, and started in 2011 under the vision of Tom Kirkland who wanted to create footwear with a high-end feel but at an affordable price.
So, I’ve rounded up my three favourites in their new SS25 drop, one each for work, rest, and play to add to cart for this wet season.

Work
Leave the blacks and greys for Melbourne and embrace this gorgeous red slide in the office. Red goes with almost anything, and is the colour we know and love when living in the tropics. Bonus is that the shoe leaves plenty of space for being cool thanks to that knotted top.
If you want something similar but with the support of a strap around the heel, the Elki sandal is perfect, but it doesn’t come in red.

Rest
It’s giving Sunday afternoon drinks with a stunning sunset while watching the boats come in. Pair it with a simple linen maxi dress to stay extra cool, and you’ve got the most perfect wet season outfit. It also comes in burgundy and white, so the choice is all yours.

Play
Granted, suede can be a hard one in the wet season, but with the right care it’ll be a durable and stylish shoe for years. This Audrey Mocha Suede heel will match almost everything in your wardrobe, including this Clemenza Spliced Mini Dress and you’re set for any event between here and Christmas.
