Be Yourself. Be Happy.

Of the grand order of folio leviathans, the Sperm Whale and the Right Whale are by far the most noteworthy. They are the only whales regularly hunted by man. To the Nantucketer, they present the two extremes of all the known varieties of the whale. As the external difference between them is mainly observable in their heads; and as a head of each is this moment hanging from the Pequod's side.

Stay Positive. Always.

I’ve been living in these three Daughters of India pieces all wet season.

The wet season can be hard.

It’s hot, humid, and completely stifling at times, with the kind of heat that clings to you from morning to night. Getting dressed can feel like a challenge in itself, so lightweight, breathable natural fabrics are an absolute must to survive the sweaty season. Even more so when you’re chasing kids, running errands, or ducking in and out of air-con.

This season, I’ve been living in Daughters of India. Their pieces feel effortless but still put-together, which is exactly what I need right now. Here’s three items I’ve had on high rotation and keep reaching for week after week.

Daughters of India is a wardrobe staple in the wet season. The Sundress Mini ~ Almond is lightweight and flowy.

Sundress Mini ~ Almond
This dress is lightweight and breathable fabric that’s perfect for not just Darwin’s heat and humidity, but the whole of North Australia over the summer months.
It’s an easy throw-on style that still looks polished, is mum life approved and is a flattering mini length that’s a relaxed fit and comfortable all day.

This Daughters of India dress is easy to dress up or down with sandals, sneakers or heels.

Kyra Mini Dress
Soft, breathable 100% cotton fabric that keeps you cool all day, this dress is a flattering cut that skims the body without feeling tight. It’s easy to dress up or down with sandals, sneakers or heels and is even the perfect throw on after swimming. Like me, pair it with a cowboy hat for some fun accessorising.

A sarong is so versatile, and can be worn any number of ways.

Ria Sarong
A sarong is a must in the North.
It’s just so versatile. You can wear as a skirt, dress, wrap, towel, or even use it as a bit of shade. It’s ideal for sun protection without heavy layers, while also being compact and easy to keep in the car, pram, or beach bag.
These pieces have made getting dressed in the wet season feel easier without sacrificing any style. They’re breathable, practical, and effortless for busy, humid days. If you’re looking to simplify your wardrobe while staying cool and comfortable, these are the kinds of staples worth reaching for all season long.
