Be Yourself. Be Happy.

Of the grand order of folio leviathans, the Sperm Whale and the Right Whale are by far the most noteworthy. They are the only whales regularly hunted by man. To the Nantucketer, they present the two extremes of all the known varieties of the whale. As the external difference between them is mainly observable in their heads; and as a head of each is this moment hanging from the Pequod's side.

Stay Positive. Always.

100 books a year wasn’t enough, so I started a book club

A Darwin woman with an insatiable appetite for books says starting a book club helped her share the stories with a community who loves reading as much as she does.
Sarah Noonan said her love of reading lead to a goal of devouring 100 books a year, but it wasn’t enough.
“I ended up reaching that goal but as the year went on it got to the stage where I was reading so many incredible stories that I felt like I was bursting at the seams to talk about them,” she said.

Book Besties Darwin is an inclusive club for all book lovers.

“I shared a few book reviews on my Instagram, but it felt one-sided, so I got thinking of starting a book club with friends but I can never do things in halves.
“I went all out and decided to throw it out there to the community and that’s where Book Besties Darwin was born.”
She didn’t expect to find so many people in a similar situation who loved reading but didn’t have the community of book lovers around them to share with.
“It’s been really cool to see how many people are excited to be involved,” she said.
“At the beginning of each month the Book Club Pick will be posted on the @bookbestiesdarwin Instagram.
February’s pick is The Cicada House by Ella Ward.
“Anyone who wishes to get involved can grab the book and get reading, and at the end of each month there is both an in person meet up in Darwin and an online discussion on the Instagram page where we discuss our thoughts on the read,” she said.
“I’ve kept it super simple in that anyone can join in.
“It’s great if you can make it at the end of the month but if you can’t there is always the online discussion to get involved with.
“It’s a super chill vibe and is meant to be inclusive and fun.”
